Jenny Hansen, MSWI

Hello! I’m a Master of Social Work (MSW) intern in my final year at the University of Utah. I use evidence-informed approaches and am dedicated to continually tailoring treatment to each individual. I am currently completing training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to further support clients in processing trauma and distressing experiences.

Prior to joining Brookhaven, I interned with Alpine School District, where I had the opportunity to support elementary students with autism, ADHD, selective mutism, trauma, anxiety, depression, and behavioral challenges. This experience deepened my appreciation for each individual’s unique personality and highlighted the importance of engaging, compassionate care.

I believe in cultivating strong therapeutic relationships built on trust, empathy, and collaboration. A guiding quote from Fred Rogers resonates deeply with me:
“Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable. When we can talk about our feelings, they become less overwhelming, less upsetting, and less scary. The people we trust with that important talk can help us know that we are not alone.”

With this in mind, I am committed to creating a safe and welcoming space where clients feel accepted exactly as they are and supported as they navigate life’s challenges.

Outside of my clinical and academic work, I enjoy spending time with my four children, playing the violin, and finding great deals.
